3/1/2024 0 Comments John deere l120 belt diagramDid you open and close the bypass valve a few times to make sure it was not partly open? Mine refuses to roll backwards with the valve closed but will move forward a bit with some umph. Getting the pulley off the shaft could be the hardest part if it is not loose already. Looking at the exploded view on the parts website replacing the fan does not look that difficult once you get in to it. (That narrows it down a bit doesn't it? :duh: ) Another question, with the parking brake off, engine off, bypass valve on the tranny closed, can you take hold of the belt and get it to slide on the pulleys by pulling on it? Should be very difficult to impossible to get the belt to slide without turning either the engine or tranny pulley I'd think. Since the belt grip did not do much, I would guess the belt is either too loose for it to help or it is another problem. Price at my local dealer for it is $508.67. JD parts lookup shows the L130 has a K46AC (JD#AM131580) tranny. Drop it off and let someone fix it for me I bought the replace fan, but didn't put it on because I need to read up on it (thanks for the link above, I'm sure it will help). So you can see why I changed the belt before my first mow. Everything looks straight and fine though. So, did the belt slip off the pulley, did a chunck of something get up in there and cause the belt to jump and at the same time mess with the fan. I also noticed that the little fan above the tranny had one fan blade missing and another one with a nice notch in it. Come to find out later, what I think happened was that the belt jumped off the rear pulley a little, got chewed a little, but went back on itself. I heard one of those thump sounds, not loud, but not normal. One day while plowing it starting slipping bad. I was plowing, I noticed it was slipping a little and put it on my to-do list of changing. It went through an entire summer and a heavy snow plow year. I use the mower all summer and I plow with it to. The first drive belt lasted two/three seasons. I also show you how to remove and reinstall the mowing deck. The part number for the b. I'm actually borderline thinking of buying *another* belt and doing it again to see if I just had a borderline belt that was just not exact enough length wise. In this video I show you how to replace a John Deere mowing deck belt. Maybe it is borderline tight enough but as the belt warms up it starts to slip. Grease, etc: probably not, again, worked fine for 30 minutes, grease would cause issues right away IMHO It worked fine for the first 30 minutes, my guess. ROFLMAOīent pulley, not sure, but possible, didn't look like it, but I guess possible. I'll have to move some leaves around, tear out some bushes and shrubs to see if they are still laying there. Wait, I think they are still there, the must still be there. I put them next to the shed back when I had that stupid post.
